Statement from the Flin Flon Archives Board (Sept 23, 2025)
The Flin Flon Archives Board recognizes 1927 as the beginning of the community of Flin Flon. In 1927, Hudson Bay Mining and Smelting was incorporated, the Flin Flon Hockey team was created under the management of Tom Creighton and the ’27 Club emerged as a lasting memory of our community’s culture. Together, these milestones mark 1927 as the year Flin Flon truly began.

Do you have what it takes to become a master angler? We are known to attract people from across Western Canada to participate in our annual Flinty's Ice Fishing Derby. In 2022, 50 out of nearly 500 fish that were submitted qualified as a master angler.
